V.I.E - Sales Rep. North America- AV Composites

💬 1. Can you tell us about your journey and what brought you to the U.S.?

After completing my Master’s degree in International Business, I wanted to immerse myself in a new culture and explore a different way of doing business. The United States was always my top choice. I’ve been fascinated by American culture since I was young, through sports, music, and cinema.

When I learned about the V.I.E program, I decided to give it my all. After several interviews, I was selected to represent AV Composites, a French company that manufactures insulated sandwich panels for pergolas, verandas, and carports. My mission was to develop the U.S. market,  finding new clients, strengthening existing partnerships, attending trade shows, and managing logistics.

Having already worked in the construction field for two years during my studies, this opportunity felt like the perfect combination of my professional background and personal aspirations.

💬 2. What inspired you to grow your business here, and what surprised you most along the way?

Miami has a truly unique energy; its dynamism is contagious. There are countless events designed to help entrepreneurs connect, collaborate, and grow. As someone passionate about sports, I also love being in a city that allows me to stay active, which helps me maintain a strong work-life balance and stay motivated.

What inspires me most here is the American entrepreneurial spirit, people aren’t afraid to take risks. Trying is valued, not judged. That mindset really struck me, and it’s one of the most refreshing cultural differences I’ve discovered.

💬 3. What’s one cultural difference or mindset shift that helped you adapt to the U.S. market?

The friendliness and openness of Americans immediately stood out to me. In France, relationships tend to start in a more formal way, but here, people are naturally warm and approachable. That helped me adapt quickly because I’m also someone who enjoys building genuine connections. I don’t feel like I’m playing a role, I can simply be myself, and that authenticity makes my work so much more rewarding.

💬 4. How has being part of the FACC community supported you or your business?

Being part of the French-American Chamber of Commerce has been a real asset. Through their events, I was introduced to our current logistics partner, with whom we’ve built a very strong relationship. I’ve also taken part in several conferences and webinars, which helped me better understand various aspects of American business culture.

💬 5. What’s your favorite place in Miami or Florida, and what makes it special to you?

Florida is full of incredible places, but if I had to pick one, I’d say Naples, I think I saw the most beautiful sunset of my life there, and I loved running along the beach.

In Miami, my favorite spot is Key Biscayne. Even though it’s just minutes from downtown, it feels like a completely different world. I live in Brickell and work in Downtown, both very lively neighborhoods, so escaping to Key Biscayne allows me to disconnect and find balance in my daily life.

💬 6. What’s next for you or your company?

We have some exciting projects coming up in 2026. The goal is to continue building on the momentum of 2025 by strengthening our presence across the U.S., expanding our customer network, and deepening relationships with our existing partners. Our long-term ambition is to become a major player in the U.S. market, just as AV Composites has already done in Europe.

💬 7. If you could describe your journey in one word, what would it be and why?

Growth.

Both professionally and personally, this experience has been transformative. I’ve learned to adapt, to take risks, and to keep pushing forward and that constant growth is what drives me every single day.
