MAYA SELVA CIGARS Maya Selva Cigars is a company dedicated to the production of premium hand-made cigars from Honduras and Nicaragua. Established by Maya Selva in 1994, the company boasts three very distinct and successful brands. Flor de Selva and Villa Zamorano which showcase the best tobaccos from Honduras – reflecting the full character of the Jamastrán valley highlands, and Cumpay, which is produced with tobacco from the volcanic highlands in Nicaragua. The multi-awarded brands have a legion of aficionados from around the world and are currently sold in 30 countries.
The company is based in Paris, France, with offices in Tegucigalpa, Honduras and Hollywood, Florida in the US. With growing interest in the brands, Maya Selva Cigars expanded just recently to the Asian market, opening up lines of distribution in Hong Kong, Macau, Japan, and other countries.
About MAYA SELVA With a mother from France and a father from Honduras, Maya grew up in Tegucigalpa and returned to France to study at the age of sixteen. She trained to be an engineer, attended the Ecole Internationale des Sciences du Traitement de l’Information School of Engineering (EISTI), and finished her education in the United States with a Master of Science degree.
Maya fulfilled her dream of bringing together her French and Honduran origins, and became one of the world’s few female manufacturers of entirely handmade cigars. She was also the first to introduce European cigar enthusiasts to the Honduran terroir, the red soil of her ancestors where, every year, a tobacco with woody flavours and subtle aromas is reborn.
