Welcome Christophe Maincourt as the New President of the FACC Miami.

"I am looking forward to bringing the Chamber to the next level by strengthening its role as a platform of facilitation for the French-American business."

For the past 25 years, FACC Florida has been an entrusted institutional player in the business community.

Relying on people to people contacts, assistance in recruitment and organization of various forms of seminars and networking events, the Chamber has facilitated or contributed to the opening of businesses locally as well as promoting partnership initiatives with other European and Floridian organizations and entrepreneurs . Its team will be on board again during the French Week (1st – 23rd of November) through round tables on public transportation and luxury industry, among other topics.

After 6 years at the helm of FACC Florida, Jacques BRION announced his resignation a few days ago. The board elected, on September 13th, the new President, Mr Christophe MAINCOURT.

Jacques BRION has spent his entire career in real estate business. After his graduation from “Ecole spéciale des Travaux publics” and “Ecole des Hautes Etudes Commerciales / HEC”, he started as a young professional in Lille, north of France, before moving to the United States in 1984. CEO of various companies (local branch of Ferinel Group, then Magestic Group) Jacques BRION became a renowned entrepreneur in the business community.

Therefore, he was appointed Conseiller du Commerce extérieur in 1989. He is today Vice-President of the Florida-Caribbean section. New professional projects will, nevertheless, give him the opportunity to spend more time in France in the coming months. Jacques thought it was the right time to hand over the baton at the Chamber.

Born in Tours, located in the Loire Valley, Christophe MAINCOURT is a graduate from the French business School EDC, INSEAD and Harvard Business School. He started his professional career in Africa working for an oil drilling company.

He started his career in the luxury products industry in 1981, in the field of International Development. He joined Parfums Christian Dior Paris (LVMH Group) as a sales executive then regional Manager for Asia Pacific, based in Sydney (1985) and Singapore (1987).. At the same time, Christophe MAINCOURT took the responsibility of the management of the world largest travel retail group; the San Francisco based company Duty Free Shoppers.

In this capacity, he was recruited by Cartier to become the Regional Director for Asia Pacific based in Hong-Kong. He opened Cartier Boutiques in the major locations of this network while preparing for the creation of the subsidiaries in Taiwan and Korea. Christophe was soon appointed board member of Cartier Hong-Kong, Cartier Taiwan and Cartier Korea and continued the development of the area by opening the China and India markets for Cartier.

After 15 years spent in Asia, he decided that it was a time for him to discover a new geography and was offered the President and CEO position for Cartier in the western hemisphere, based in Miami. The company was responsible for the distribution and promotion of the Cartier brands.

In 2000, his territory was extended to the whole of Latin America overseeing the subsidiaries of Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Venezuela and Saint Thomas and he was promoted to President of Richemont for Latin America and Caribbean overlooking the introduction of the newly acquired High Watchmaking brands.

He renovated the network of Cartier boutiques and extended its number to 25 and 250 personalized corners and, consequently, positioned Cartier as the market leader in Latin America.

After 14 years in Miami and 20 years with Cartier, Christophe decided that it was the time for him to start his own business of distribution and promotion of luxury goods, capitalizing on his experience in the Americas, and the Asia Pacific areas. He created Resource Management International for this purpose.

Among many other assignements, He is a Board member of Florida International University – MBA program, The Beacon Council, Finance Committee of the Miami Children’s Hospital, Latin American Forum, French-Floridian Foundation for the Arts, Conseillers du Commerce extérieur de la France - section Floride et Caraïbe.

Christophe is married to Carmenza, a Colombian diplomat; they have one daughter.
